16 weeks

Well, this has been a busy week! Lots going on with school and getting ready for christmas. Not to much new with the little one. Still pretty sick, especially around things that smell and in the car. I think it is slowly getting better. We had our first family christmas yesterday and got some of our first gifts for the little one. toys, our first blanket, a bath robe and a badger bib. We are looking forward to Christmas with our families and relaxing up north.
Biggest craving...anything spicy!!!
Biggest annoyance...feeling sick and brushing my teeth
Something good... well kind of I guess, my belly is getting bigger and bigger:)

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.

Hopefully this week will bring some relief in the sickness department. I’ve been pretty good but smells are really still controlling my ability to do anything. I have a very busy work week this week, and am trying to get everything ready to go home for the holidays. Hope my little orange cooperates! Still counting down to January 18th!!!!
Biggest craving...anything spicy!!!
Biggest annoyance...not being able to sleep
Something good... I think I’m starting to feel little movements

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

Boy or Girl???

We went to our regular OB doctor today. We heard the heart beat for a little while, but he/she was moving and kicking so much that we couldn't hear it for long. It was still a great sound to hear! The heart rate hasn't changed much in the last two days still around 150. Another great part about this appointment was getting to schedule the next ultrasound...the BIG one where we get to find out if its a boy or a girl!!! The big day is January 18. It seems so far away, but im sure it will fly by!

Baby 13 Weeks

At 13 weeks the baby is about the size of a peach and its average size: 2.9 in, .81 oz. Its kind of weird to think that something that big is there and you cant really tell...

Back to the Doctor

We went to the doctor today for our second ultrasound. Everything looked great again. We are right on target for 13 weeks. The ultrasound looked so different that the last one He/She was moving all over, moving hands and feet. He/She even waved at the camera a couple of times. The heart rate came in at 147 a ton slower than last time, but totally normal as the baby grows. We go back on Thursday to hear the heartbeat and see our regular doctor.

I’m finally starting to feel better in the last few days. I can actually eat a meal without getting sick. In fact I think I'm catching up for lost time...I can't get enough to eat the last few days. Favorite foods for the 3rd month...Tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, candy, and orange juice.

Stay posted for the latest baby photo and the first belly shot. Yep, a bump has already started!
