Swing! Swing was one of Graces first words (it comes out as wing, but she deffintily gets the meaning of it!) She has always loved to swing, but lately wants to do it all the time. Grandma and Grandpa Weber just got a new playset with a comfy toddler swing just for our little Gracie Girl! She loves it! Grace also loves to watch her cousins swing and slide down the slide on the set.
Grace loves pretty much all fruits and veggies but blackberries and tomatos are her absolute favorites. Yesterday Grace kept pointing at a whole tomato in the fruit basket on the table, when I gave it to her to explore she took one big bite and didn't stop! She ate every bite of the tomato and was slurping the juice with a huge smile! Silly little girl!

12 Months ( a week late)
12 months Old!
Wow a 12 month old! How did that happen? Grace is at such a fun stage right now! She understands so much, imitates everything we do, and is starting to put language together with meaning. Her biggest action right now is pointing at everything. Almost like she is saying, "What's that called?" Right now she has her own words for five or six things. She says Ma Ma, Da Da, Pffft (peanut), Ing (Swing) It (sit) Ba Da (Grandpa) Ma (Grandma). She still says them inconstantly, but definitely knows the meaning behind words. Lately if I ask her to do things like give baby kisses or hugs, brush her teeth, play peek a boo, or go get your blanket she will do it.
She is also starting to get into the stage of knowing what she wants (and also lets us know when she doesn't want something) She shows this especially with food. I try and give her veggies first, but she knows there is always fruit waiting around somewhere. She will point at the counter and sign more until she gets what she wants.
At 12 months Grace is:
Is in size 3 diapers
Wears 12 and 18 month clothes.
Weighed 24 lbs 6 oz (gaining about a lb in a month) and is 31.5 in tall.
Drinks 3-6 oz a time, 4 times a day and is starting to switch to whole milk
Now eats a snack or two each day in addition to three meals a day
She tries pretty much everything we eat. Recently she loves blackberries and wants them for every meal.
Has started to be scared of loud noises and toys that move suddenly
Likes to smile and giggle to get attention. Loves to pretend to feed mommy and daddy
Sleeps from 8pm-7am most nights without getting up.
Definitely knows what she wants and protests being taken away from things especially peanuts food
Is really showing that she understands how her world works
She takes tons of assisted steps, in fact I think it’s her preferred mode of transportation, but hates to move around furniture.
Takes 2 longer naps of 1 1/2 hours to 2 1/2 hours a day. Has recently started sleeping on her tummy. usually with her butt in the air.
Likes to figure out how things work. She will put balls in her giraffe toy for a long time! She also loves anything that makes noise, and loves to look at the picture in her books. She is also really interested in pictures of people she knows.
Dances as soon a any kind of music is played and always claps when a song is finished.
Loves playing with the remote, cell phones and SHOES! Some of her favorite things
She loves going for walks and being outside. Swinging is her absolute favorite. Every morning after she gets up the first thing she does is scoot to the patio door and point to outside.
Loves peanut...there BFF's she actually laughs every time Peanut barks. They love to play together. Peanut will take a toy from Grace and toss it up in the air and chew on it, then Grace will grab it back from peanut and start the whole thing over again.
Has four teeth on the bottom and four on the top.
Favorite toy: Books, Toy Kitchen, fridge magnets, Elmo books, babies.
Favorite Song: This little piggy, baby monkey saying, pretty much anything
Favorite Book: Bubbles Bubbles, Elmo book, pretty much anything
Things I don’t want to forget: How much she loves peanut, How she greats me when I’ve been gone, how she points to say hello and will get the biggest toothy grin and come to me. How she’s always trying to figure out how things work. Once she finds something she likes she will do it over and over and over. How she always wants to swing, and loves it when its windy and blows her hair. Also how she looks for people when there not there and will come search for me when she cant see me. How she loves all kids. Even passing kids in the store, she will smile and laugh. How she will babble and laugh and just entertain herself when she wakes up.

Happy 1st Birthday Grace!
Can she really be one already? I can't believe how fast the last year has gone. She is such an amazing little girl, we are thankful everyday to have such a wonderful little girl in our lives.
For Grace's first birthday, Nathan and I both took the day off. We had such a special day! We started out the day just relaxing and playing with our special birthday girl. Then we all got dressed and went out to breakfest. Grace got her own pancake and fruit. She also got to pick out a special cup cake from Craigs Cakes to smash after dinner. Then we took a trip to Madison's Childrens Museum. Grace had a blast watching all the kids and playing with all the new toys.

After visiting the museum, we came home ate lunch (including her special cupcake), played outside and opened presents from mommy, daddy and peanut. Grace got a ride on/push behind dinosaur, some bath letters, fridge farm magnets, some clothes, and some musical toys. We all had such a great day together!

Gracie's First Birthday Party
We had Grace's first birthday party on June 4th at Grandma and Grandpa Weber's house. It was a beautiful and perfect day to celebrate Grace turning one. We had tons of food, a great cake and lots of presents. Thanks everyone for celebrating with us!
Grace got the chance to distroy her first cake, but wasn't all that interested at first. When she got into it she enjoyed it very much. We were all ready with a tub of water for a quick outside bath. After cake Grace opened all of her presents. She got many cute outfits, some books, a water table, a sandbox and a picnic table. We will be all set to play outside this summer.
