What can I say about my little 11 month old? This last month has brought so much growth and change. A few things that stick out the most are how mobile she has become, how much she understands about the world as well as how much she can understand and produce language. She started scooting across the floor on her butt April 12th since then she has been getting faster and faster, and can pretty much figure out how to get anywhere she wants to go. In the last few days she has really taken an interest in walking while we are holding on to her hands. She “walks” all over the house this way.
Her understanding all of a sudden just amazes me. A few days ago my mom and I were watching TV and Grace When to play with the remote like she usually does. Instead of putting it right in her mouth, she pointed it at the TV and started pushing buttons. She did the same with her brush. Instead of putting it right to her mouth like normal, she started brushing her own hair, and mine as well. She will take out and pick up her toys and likes to feed me her puffs at dinner time.
Her language is also really increasing, with Ma Ma Ma and Da Da Da. She will make the starting sounds of words often. Things like otttt ohhh, nnnn ma (Grandma), no no no no, and baaaa (ball). She will also follow your commands. Like don’t touch that, no no no no, give me the ball. There is a video at the end of this post of her putting balls into one of her toys.
At 10 months Grace is:
Is in size 3 diapers
Wears 9 and 12 month clothes.
Weighed 23 lb 2 oz (gaining about a lb in a month) an is 31 in tall.
Drinks 3-6 oz a time, 4 times a day
Now eats a snack or two each day in addition to three meals a day
She tries pretty much everything we eat. Recently she had strawberries, pineapple and mac and cheese
Likes to smile and giggle to get attention. Loves to pretend to feed mommy and daddy
Sleeps from 8pm-7am most nights without getting up.
Definitely knows what she wants and protests being taken away from things
Is starting to understand how her world works
She takes tons of assisted steps, in fact I think it’s her preferred mode of transportation
Takes 2 longer naps of 1 1/2 hours to 2 1/2 hours a day. Has recently started sleeping on her tummy. usually with her butt in the air.
Likes to figure out how things work. She will put balls in her giraffe toy for a long time! She also loves anything that makes noise, and loves to look at the picture in her books. She is also really interested in pictures of people she knows.
Likes to bang objects together and blow in the connects blocks to make a whistle noise.
Has started to dance when music is played
Loves taking anything out of her toy basket until her has tons of toys around her. She always wants the remote and Mommy’s jewelry or shoes.
She loves going for walks and being outside.
Loves peanut...there BFF's she actually laughs every time Peanut barks. They love to play together. Peanut will take a toy from Grace and toss it up in the air and chew on it, then Grace will grab it back from peanut and start the whole thing over again.
Has four teeth on the bottom and four on the top.
Favorite toy: Books, Plastic eggs, giraffe, maraca’s
Favorite Song: This little piggy, baby monkey saying and
Favorite Book: Jungle Babies, The Very Hungary Caterpillar, fidgety fish and 5 Little Lady Bugs
Things I don’t want to forget: How proud of herself she is when she takes steps around the room. How she snuggles in my neck when she wakes up. How she always plays with my necklace or hair when she is fussy, board, or tired. Her beautiful toothy grin. How she will look back to see if what she is doing is okay before she does it, how she could sit with a box of books for hours and be totally satisfied, how she hums and makes noise like she is talking to herself when she is really concentrating. How she loves being around other kids, and loves seeing people after being away from them.
